Opryland Resort

One of the most common recommendations I hear and see for things to do in Nashville is to visit the Gaylord Opryland Resort. The Opryland Resort is a 4-star hotel, resort, and convention center located right by the Grand Ole Opry. I have visited the nearby Opry Mills Mall multiple times but had never been over to see the hotel. I was so glad my husband and I took the time to check it out; it's pretty cool!
Anyone can walk through the hotel, you don't have to be a guest to enjoy the restaurants and beautiful views. There is a parking fee at the resort, but here's a trick to save a few dollars: Park for free at the Opry Mills Mall on the side near Dave & Buster's. It is a short walk over to the hotel, just follow the signs for the Cascade Lobby.
The main things to see are the large atriums in the middle of the resort. They are filled with beautiful plants, hanging lights, water features, sculptures, gazebos, you name it. There are walkways and bridges throughout each section to enjoy the views from multiple vantage points. If you are visiting in the hot and humid summer months you'll love the air conditioning!

There are multiple sections to the resort with different atriums, views, and restaurants. It is easy to navigate using the posted signs and maps. We spent about 20 minutes enjoying the views, but you could easily spend much longer. The resort also has multiple restaurants, and some of them have beautiful atrium views.
Like everyone says, this is a must-see in Nashville. Walking through was such a great free activity with amazing views, and now I'm dreaming of staying here with an atrium view room. Look how cute the little balconies are! A perfect Sunday afternoon walk (with air conditioning!)
