Other Nashville Recommendations

Updated: Sep 15, 2019

Here are some of my favorite things from this summer that didn't get their own posts! We ate so much good food and experienced so many fun things that I couldn't make a full post for everything, so here are some of my top Nashville recommendations!

Restaurants:

Taqueria del Sol- Our favorite place to eat in Nashville- by far! We ate here almost every weekend. Some of the best tacos I have ever had. The prices and service also can't be beat. I dream about their queso! http://www.taqueriadelsol.com/locations.html

Pemrose- High end seafood restaurant in The Gulch. We went here for our anniversary dinner and it was amazing. If you love seafood and want to splurge for a nicer dinner, I would highly recommend Pemrose! https://pemrosenashville.com/

Biscuit Love- This is one of the most popular brunch spots in Nashville, and for a good reason! It is so delicious. My favorite things are their Bonuts (biscuit donuts) and their cheesy grits. They have a few locations throughout Nashville. https://biscuitlove.com/

Bonuts at the Biscuit Love Gulch location

Monell's- This is another famous restaurant in Nashville. They have classic southern food- served family style. You are seated at a big table with other guests and no phones are allowed at the tables. You pass all the delicious food around, and it is a great experience. The food is just as great as the atmosphere. We went for breakfast, and I loved the biscuits and fried chicken. I would recommend going on a weekday if possible, because the wait can be insane on weekends. https://monellstn.com/

First Watch- Another yummy place we went for brunch! Their menu was full of unique and flavorful breakfast and brunch options. I had an amazing egg sandwich with the best breakfast potatoes ever! Highly recommend. https://www.firstwatch.com/locations/green-hills

Proper Bagel: If you are craving a great New York style bagel this is the place to get it. They have bagel sandwiches, lots of sides, and delicious cream cheese spreads. I got a plain bagel with cookie dough spread that was amazing.

Desserts:

Jeni's Ice Cream: I know I mentioned Jeni's in a few posts, but I never got around to doing a full post about it. This is all you need to know: best. ice. cream. ever. Jeni's was another place we frequented almost every week. My favorite flavors were Gooey Butter Cake & Salty Caramel. They also did a few limited edition flavors throughout the summer that were amazing. Even if you don't live in Nashville, you should look them up and see if there are any locations near you. You can also purchase some of their flavors at Whole Foods or Publix grocery stores! It is seriously so good. https://shop.jenis.com

Five Daughters Bakery: The cutest little donut bakeries. Their specialty is 100 layer donuts that are so rich and delicious. My favorite was the Chocolate Sea Salt 100 layer donut. We loved the 12th South location because it is the cutest old house with Instagram worthy photo spots. https://fivedaughtersbakery.com/collections/staple-flavors

Other fun spots:

Opry Mills Mall & Green Hills Mall: These are both great malls for different reasons. Opry Mills Mall is a huge mall with lots of outlet stores, restaurants, a movie theater, etc. Green Hills Mall is more of a high end mall with designer stores. Both malls are great to walk around and either go on a shopping spree or do some window shopping!

Percy Priest Lake: The perfect lake for swimming or other water activities near Nashville. There is a great beach and swimming area that makes for a perfect summer day!

Cummins Falls & Burgess Falls Hikes: These hikes are about 2 hours away from Nashville, but is worth it for the gorgeous views. When we were there the Cummins Falls gorge was closed so we couldn't swim- but it was a beautiful waterfall and hike. Burgess Falls has 3 falls along a short hike that are stunning as well. These hikes are a great break from the craziness of the city.

Nashville Zoo at Grassmere: We went here a couple times with our friends and their young kids. It is a great family friendly outing for a reasonable price. The whole zoo is so green, and has some fun unique animals.
